we've finally launched a nice little app we built a couple months ago called Moonalice Twitter Radio. it's an automated playlist system that allows bands (moonalice in this case) to send out timed links to media files through their twitter channel, effectively giving away their music to their fans in the spirit of tape trading -- share the music and support the band by coming to shows and buying merch!
admins can also dedicate certain tracks to users which heavily increases the re-tweets in the community and strengthens the bond between fans and artist.
